What type of painting oil you used on your details? Please
Artist oils. Any good quality brand will do 👍
Great video man. The music was a jam :D.
Enjoyable video, he appears to be an expert at model building ,but personally , I would rather build models myself, even with the mistakes that I make , that's the fun of the whole process to accomplish the build ,and enjoy the result. Thank you for sharing your! (expertise. )
As you say And i agree, im not an expert. But i had tremendous fun on this model And some details now i know how to improve in future models. Thank you And stay safe 👍🇵🇹👌
Soleil Royal by Heller, please
Amaizing work..!! Congratulation..George from Argentina..
Well Alex, thanks to your inspiring video here, I did it, I managed to find one of these kits and got it. The kit was not cheap, and I will not attempt it until I feel ready as I still have lots to learn, but it will be waiting for that day! Needless to say, I will be keenly interested in how you progress with yours, taking notes as I go. No rush though Alex as I know how difficult making these superb videos you do are.
Thank you. I hope you trully apreciate your kit! 👍
@@AlexModeling I do Alex, it's the 2nd most expensive kit I've ever bought, the first being a 1:350 Hasegawa N.Y.K Line Hikawa Maru. Already ordered some 1:72 English Pirate figures for the deck by Orion. I think they will help bring the ship to life. 🙂 Anyways, still lots to learn from yourself, Harry in Australia too but one day, I will build it! In too deep to turn back now! 😄
You were probably mixing up the shrouds (the vertical ropes supporting the mast ) with the ratlines (the horizontal ropes used by the sailors to climb up to the yards). Since ropes strech, the ratlines sagged a bit, so the horizontal lines should have a droop in them and not be straight.
Now we just need Assassin's creed Jackdaw model kit good build tho👍
Another magical modelling masterclass from Alex. I have looked at this kit. It is very expensive and demands a skill level in modelling that, I hope, to aspire to one day. Thank you once again, Alex. 🙂
im building the old revel 1:48 kit, its a really basic kit bit a great muke for hyper scratch detailing. full new cickpit etc. this is a great ref video of techniquea that i can use and great detail video, many thanka.
10 years later has it been built ?
No, an accident toke It from me. Started it. But never finished It. Exactly, 10 years
❤
What a stunning model! Such a good job, I’ve just bought the kit and going to enjoy building it over the next few months and will undoubtedly revisit your videos as I go
Have Fun! 👍👌🇵🇹

Looks cool mean ❤ plss make tutorial ❤🎉
dem so cool❤❤🎉
That canopy fitment is absolutely horrendous
Hoy, wonderful work Sir. Where did you get the photo etch parts? I'm collecting parts and pieces for this model. This is the first I have heard of the custom resin parts. Looks terrific. The lettering is also new to me. Thank you.
Very well put together with meticulous attention to detail, but for me the weathering on the paintwork rather spoiled things as did the way out of scale ratlines. The magnificence was lost to my eyes.
Fantastic job...
Muy buenas .. Victory???. No encuentro videos del Victory 1/100 desde hace un año.. Gracias por tu trabajo 👍👍
Кромки парусов, обработанные на швейной машине, портят картину, мне кажется...
Hoy, I dont have this kit yet but I am collecting parts for it. I have the set of wooden blocks, Cloth sails and Studding sails from, Hismodels web sight. I'm looking forward to doing this model after I finish the Heller 1/100th Soleil Royal. I highly recommend the Hismodels site.
I realized the same model last january, my first ship kit ever. All handly painted, no spray or airbrush. 1 month of work....big satisfaction
Beautiful video and the finished model is brilliant I’ve liked and subscribed and look forward to watching your other videos 👍
awesome work
Very beautiful work Alex !!! I've tried to build the San Martin (twice) and gave up on it after I broke parts 😂😂 Now I bought the Albatros , and I hope with your video, I can build it !! One question: what is that yellow cube you pull the ropes through?🤔 Greetings Frank S.
Blocos And pulleys! But um not sure about english nomenclature. Good luck! 👍🇵🇹
@@AlexModelingno I mean that yellow block at 38:43 you pull the ropes through... 🤔
@VNyxon sorry englisch please 🙏

Jako ljepo odrađeno majstorski . Ljepi pozdrav iz hr. Uživao sam gledajući tvoj video u potpunosti hvala na savjetima jer se i ja spremam gradti istu maketu
Super Video, danke.
You videos are very educational, just bought the Essex. Question? when at the rigging stage, how do you know what length to cut the threads to start the rigging. Looking at the instructions, it shows mm but not sure if I should cut longer for tying & cutting. Any info appreciated.
Nice work. I'm in the building process with this kit. Did you leave the panels loose to show the cabin area? Or did you glue them down?
David R Lentz, USA In 1992, round the 400th anniversary of Cristoforo Columbu's voyage across the Atlantic under the aegis of Queen Isabella of Spain, the Spanish government commemorated the occasion in sending across that same ocean a replica of the Santa Maria. It eventually came to Columbus, Ohio, where on numerous occasions have I seen it.
Was watching your build whilst laboriously cutting copper tape into tiny lengths for my first ever attempt at coppering and saw you doing full lengths - changed immediately and at 1/72 no one will notice
Well done mate. Lovely finish. You ask about weathering rules? There are NO rules mate. I love my weathering - just do what feels right and persist with the hairspray. Two light coats only. Then let dry and spray top coat. Go easy gets the finer chips - just takes a little patience.
Thank you for this Alex …just rendered my very first “cheap” airbrush that came with the compressor I bought …usless after 9 months hard use ( then again I did leave the cleaning fluid in for 24 hrs ) ..Gaahleri now have an offer on via Amazon today…so based on your video …I’ll purchase
Thinking about getting my first wooden model. Now I'm pretty convinced about NOT buying big ships like Montanes or Santisima Trinidad. If this one took you 6 months, thats just wow. Enjoyed every minute of your video, thanks for that. Cheers!
Great video like always. I have been researching wooden ship modelling lately too. I came across another channel - Olha Batchvarov - which is absolutely beautiful if you are interested. Looking forward to building mine this summer.
I know that channel 😊 Olha is a remarcable artist And she And her husband experts in this matter as well as maritime archeologie 👍 i recomend it!
Hello! I have been using GHAD-39 for over a year. In my opinion, I received a very good quality pistol. So far, I have not changed any parts in it and there is no problem. Last years I tried Fengda, Chromax and others. I have an H&S Ultra with 0.2, but the Gaahleri is the first one that I can say was worth it 😉
Hi although your doing a great job you seem to be doing the same painting and fitting as you've done in previous videos don't get it
I like your work. I'm just going to give you a criticism, and as I don't want it to seem that I want to say “I know better”, I'll explain the reason. Many modelers recently use a lot of cyanoacrylate glue, which is very fast. This apparently makes the work easier, but it has an important problem: it is very rigid. Wood is a material that “suffers” a lot from the impact of factors such as temperature and humidity. It shrinks and expands. We could say that it “breathes”. And such rigid glues tend to break the joints. In my opinion and experience, carpenter's glue (white glue) is a better choice, even if it is slower. However, I applaud your decision to use “contact or impact glue” for the second liner. I think that's great, even if it is a sometimes messy and tedious job. Another comment: it is much more comfortable if you start working the rigging mast by mast instead of all at the same time. I usually start at the stern and work my way forward. But this is ONLY one way to do it. Hint: and my last comment: there is nothing sadder than “leaving” a cannon stuck on deck next to the gunwale. Cannons used to have at least one thick rope (braga in Spanish) to control recoil, and a set of pulleys to bring the cannon closer to the gunwale and another set of pulleys to move it away (I don't know the English terminology). But with barrels the size of your model, the effect is spectacular. I recommend it.
Olá! Gracias por las dicas! Seran muy importantes para mi en el futuro. Muchas gracias ( le escribo em castellano porque pienso que ud sera Espanol y se si yo soy português! Gracias!
The intakes are wrong... they should be way more smoother so here you go fill 'n' sand ~
Stunning job Alex. You really brought out the character of this amazing Cold War aircraft!
Not to be awful, but Victory is a she, we regard our ships as females in the UK.
Even tough i don’t like revell, for obvious reasons, you did a great job! I started a trumpeter 1/32 bf 109 E4 and the quality of the kit is fantastic!
I have that same kit, And never built it before... Maybe its time... Have Fun!
When assembling parts 19 through 26 look at the plans very closely, not this video. This is the most complicated part of the build, very easy to get all the parts in the wrong place this video does not show. If this was my video I would have shown all parts dry fitted highlighting where all parts go correctly before gluing.
Go for it, and make one And edit it! I would most surely watch it! Stay safe
Where do you shop for supplies?
Any more progress with the victory would love to see it finished
nice video series i just got this ship and will follow your build. can i ask where did you get the drill bits you used on rudder?
Kisi ko chahiye ho to bata dena
I just ordered mine.. I didn’t really know we had to buy the paint glue etc Oh well.
